# IT Support Site: PRD (plan)
Restaurant analogy: the FAQ database is the **kitchen's recipe book**. The website is the **dining room**.
## Core features
1. Cinematic hero: looping video, glass buttons (exactly as specified)
2. Search bar in the hero: type a problem, get matching answers
3. Category chips: browse the 11 topics (Access, Network, Hardware...)
4. FAQ answer cards: question, answer, optional "official guide" link
5. Footer social icons
## Phased roadmap
- **Phase 1 – Food stand (TODAY):** hero + search + categories + 87 FAQs from the database, baked in as a JSON file. No server.
- **Phase 2 – Small restaurant:** "Was this helpful?" votes, "Contact IT" ticket form, shareable links per question.
- **Phase 3 – Full restaurant:** small back-of-house server + real database, staff login, admin page to edit FAQs, ticket tracking.
## Test ladder
1. Page loads, no console errors 2. Buttons/search work 3. Real data/links work 4. Security (no raw HTML injection, safe links)

"question": "I forgot my password",
"answer": "Most organisations have a self-service reset link on the sign-in page, usually 'Forgot password' or 'Can't access your account'. You'll be asked to verify your identity, normally with a code sent to a backup email or phone number you registered earlier. If there's no self-service option, or verification fails, your IT service desk can reset it after confirming your identity another way. Keep any backup codes you were given when MFA was set up somewhere safe, they're often the fastest way back in.",

Most systems clear the lockout automatically after a set time, often 15 to 30 minutes, so waiting is sometimes the fastest fix. If it's urgent, or the lockout doesn't clear itself, your IT service desk can unlock the account manually once they've verified it's really you.",

If you don't have one, contact IT to re-register your MFA device, this normally requires an identity check (staff or student ID, or a manager confirming it's you) since it's effectively resetting your account security.",
